Since I have finished DK and am 95% done DK episode one, it's time for a new game! Sketched has been trashed, COWboys probably won't have a public release, but it is finished. Anyway, this game is called The Cult. This game will focus 60% on scariness and 40% on level design\entity placement. so it may be just slightly more bland than DK but it will have lots more scares.

Story:
The year is 2013. My name is Brian J. Evans, I am a private detective. I mostly work on cases like murder, or paranormal activity. Recently, a police officer had come into my office and put down a briefcase. When I opened it, I was amazed to see three million dollars in cash. I checked the money to make sure it was real, Then asked what he needed done. He said there have been sightings of "creatures" around the city. I obviously knew that, it was all over the news. He said that the police department had retrieved a body from a swamp near the abandoned mall. It wasn't human they said. It might have been at one time, but now it was a disgusting, bloody creatures. Long, dirty claws and it wrenched of rotting flesh. The police thinks there may be a cult that is using rituals to bring the dead back from the grave. They said they needed only the best detective they could get, but really they needed someone that no one would notice or ask questions about if he just happened to disappear. That someone was me. I was living in a small run down apartment with almost nothing. I didn't care how dangerous the case was, if I helped them find out what was happening I would never have to work again, so I graciously accepted. I am going to start near the old meat factory, where there have been seven or more sightings.

P.S. CUSTOM ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!! made by me!

Looks pretty cool and spooky. I'm also liking the story. Looks like a man is ready to do anything for cash

Love the atmosphere! Good use of lighting.

And the story is also good!
Love the fact that he isnt a "regular hero" like in most movies or games.
But that he is actually an object for the FBI or some special ops for paranormal activities?
So thats good.

Cant wait to see more.

Screens look great, and the story's pretty cool.....

Although I don't think the police would say they thought the cult was ressurecting the dead, as that would be too un-scientific, and un-official, if you get what I mean, how about saying something like, "this may have links to cult activity." That would fit the manner of the police more.....

Can't wait to see those zombies tough...

@Cheese Cake, Thanks so much! Yeah, I wanted him to be just a normal investigator trying to solve a mystery.

I think the first screen could use some pipes across the far wall, and the second could use a box or two on that shelf, or maybe an overlay on the floor. Other than that it looks pretty cool.

Good suggestions, but the second screen, that is a meat rack. I will put some meat on it.

Is the factory abandoned or what? I would think the meat would have been taken out when it closed, or if it's open where are the workers?

It's not abandoned, but it is the middle of the night so no one is working there.

The demo is almost finished. Once I release it, there is a secret place with a secret character that you must find. The first person to find it gets their choice of two of my models from the store or a free animated zombie (shown in screen shot).

If someone finds it do they need to post a screen shot of it?

That zombie is pretty bad.lol No joke. The game is good looking but the zombie looks sloppy, as in texture, and did you model the head?

Yes but there is a difference between a messed up zombie and a messy zombie. The zombie looks like it's made of entirely raw meat. The legs look too small as do the trousers. The trousers lack detail and the little stitched part in the middle looks drawn on from paint.

But hey, credit to Darimc for trying... most people wouldn't even bother making their own stuff. It might look good in-game.

Well... I have to say that I love the lighting, story line, fact that you are not some guy just randomly going to save the world but that you are doing for your own good basicaly, oh and for the money, I like the spooky tunnel type atmosphere, and also the meaty goodness.
Okay to break it all don for you, I love it so far and I rely hope to see more of this goodness(Invader zim voice).

Cheerz and good luck!
