Its the third book in the Eragon series. I got it on Saturday, and I'm up to page three-hundred-forty-something. So far, its totally awesome.
Also, in case you haven't heard, the series is now going to be four book, instead of three.
So, has anyone else gotten this book?
How do you like it?
Please keep all spoilers in Code tags.

I'll be getting it ASAP. Eragon and Eldest were amusing reads, and I expect no less from the third installment. Sadly, I'll have to wait until the girlfriend finishes it.

I really didn't like Eragon (even the film), but Eldest was epic. I haven't finished it yet but I love every page of it. Brisingr though, I don't think I'll get it as I'm becoming very bored about the Inheritance series.

I haven't read the second one, was it good?

I read the first one. The movie was horrible...

What, pray tell, is epic fail about the Inheritance cycle? If you are going to bash a series, at least give valid reasons as to why. Otherwise, that is trolling.

They both very good, and the third is even better.

I'm just getting bored of the series. There isn't as much bloodfights now, just small beat-ups in the book. Besides, Eldest will keep me going for a llllllllloooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg time =]

Yes, I heard the film was very bad, but the books are excellent. I heard such bad things about the movie, I didn't see it.

The first two books were my kind of fantasy, so I'll definitely pick up the third. Too bad the movie/game versions were such abominations :F

I second that. Stupid Hollywood, it isn't exaggerating much to say that they took the character's names and made a completely different story using them.

Hang on, I have to go lie down for a few hours or I'll start ranting about it...

Yup I got the book just last night and am only on page ...111...so far lol. Its EPIC! AWESOME SO FAR! And it is way more goreyer than the other books, from people drinking blood to, having contests on how many times they can cut themselves...And that's only after 111 pages! It has 763 pages so its bigger than Eldest.

I got it about 4:00 the day it came out, I'm page 467, the very end of chapter 32. I must be a fast reader. That, or I have no life.

Meh, if you want a contest, I got the seventh Harry Potter book around the time it came out here in Sweden and I finished it the same day, the same rules for all other harry potter books and all Dan Brown's books (I like him.).

I wasn't trying to start a contest, just throwing my current place out there, since the others did.

Out of all the books that take so much from Lord of the Rings, this is one of the few that I actually approve of. I'm gonna reread the first two before I read the new one...

Never read Lord of the rings, so I never thought that these books took from them. It all seems pretty original to me.

I read slow and try to absorb what I read and imagine what is going on. It helps much more. I read Eragon six times, and read the Abhorsen Trilogy (EPIC!!!) once with my new method, and I remember them both well.

I am going to be getting the 3rd book sometime...I may have to wait up until christmas though...oh well I'm currently reading The Looking Glass Wars so that will keep me busy for a few more days =P

I love Paolini's work, and I never quite understood what exactly he took from LOTR, this isn't the first time I've heard this, but I've read the LOTR series and the first 2 Inheritance books and I see no resemblance =/

Anyway hooray for a 4th installment!

I put a request at my library for it. I'm number 232 on the waiting list!

There are definitely a whole lot of similarities between LOTR and these books.

Beyond the classic fantasy stuff (dwarves, elves, magic) I don't see much similarity either. The movie had some major similarities to LOTR and such books, but as we've all said, they completely butchered the movie and it bears little relation to the books.

Meh... they are more like tall gorillas with big horns. Did you read the books or are you judging off of the movie? If the latter, then you, my friend, are a sinner.

I guess you can kinda make the relation...

I just finished reading it last night. One word:
EPIC.
It was a really good ending. It didn't feel rushed like some endings do, and it wrapped up just enough that you would feel satisfied, while leaving enough undone that the fourth book is still needed.

Lucky, I had to sit on a plane to Florida watching it all the time cos my parents wouldn't let me watch "meet the f***ers" >.< 2 hours of entire hellbreathing. I'm NEVER EVER getting the DVD of it, althought the song form Avril was quite good, that summed up 1 good thing about the film.

I read the books (not Brisingr, yet) and watched the movie. The movie was nothing like the books, they got rid of the whole other half of the plot! (you know, Eragon's brother and his mission, but his name has slipped from my mind.) The movie as based off the book was a complete failure. The movie by itself isn't quite as bad...But I couldn't help pointing out several inaccuracies to the others who watched it with me and hadn't read the book.

I wish the movie wasn't so short. If they had made it 2x as long they could have fit everything they needed to.

Also, they said they couldn't do the razac right because of money issues. Tell me - what costs more:

1.) Ominous cloaked figures (what they should have been)

2.) Creepy zombie guys with bugs crawling all over them and creepy wrist-daggers, heavily overlaiden with special effects (what they did)

Some of the decisions they made were just plain stupid.

Don't even get me started on how saphira grew up in 30 seconds rather than a couple months...

Here's how a friend described it:

"Look! I have a dragon!"
*They fight*
30 seconds later:
"Look! I have a dragon!"
*They fight*
30 seconds later:
"Look! I have a dragon!"
*They fight*
30 seconds later:
"Look! I have a dragon!"
*They fight*

The end.

EDIT: The movie, I mean.

Just finished Brisingr!

What an epic ending!

One thing I never saw coming was that

And also, I was pretty sad when

Also, I predicted that

Now, my new tiny prediction is that

Can't wait for the next (and last) one.
A big prediction of mine is that
