that is truly disgusting. The sims was always bad, IMO. But this is just... just no...

If the good lord had intended us to go outside or have a social life, he wouldn't have invented the internet.

God help the viewers if the kids discover the "woohoo" option.

I enjoy the Sims games, they're a lot of fun I think... but this movie is the most autrocious concept I've heard of all the games-to-movies concepts in the past. It's sort of like the Will Farrell "Bewitched" remake, where they openly acknowledged the old show by having Farrell play an actor assuming the role in a movie about the TV show. They're doing the same thing here.

Read my lips: This movie will utterly bomb. Not that I'm saying anything people didn't know already. At least we can rest assured that no one affiliated with this movie will ever work in Hollywood again.

And Spongebob was a kid's cartoon, yet the Internet loves it.

IMDB has a slightly different synopsis for the movie:
"Pleasantview is one of the most delightful neighbourhoods to live in, everybody is happy, the grass is always green, children are always well-mannered. But newcomer Andie starts to uncover the 'real' pleasantview, for not only are Pleasantville full of cheating, lying, decieving, secret-ridden people like the Goths, Don Lothario and the struggling Newbies, but they are being ruled by a greater power. Andie is terrified to discover they are stuck in a video game being played by millions universally."

I agree, it links the game world and the real world in a much better, more sensible way. And for years I've been saying that god is really a young kid playing the Sims, so Rockism followers, I urge you to endorse this concept of the movie, lol.

See, Hollywood does this thing where they blame the video game industry for their profit losses. What they need to do is blame themselves. They always take a great idea and turn it into a bad one, or go the lazy route and remake movies. The idea that some beings are playing you as a game, that's awesome. The concept of some kids finding a "magic" version of The Sims and making things happen in the real world? It's just silly, even if it is a kid's movie. And really, I mean think about the kids movies we had when we were kids. Star Wars, Tron, etc. Kids are being fed terrible movies these days, grumble grumble .

Sounds like a rip-off of the matrix without people doing backflips off of walls and dodging bullets and wearing funky outfits. In my opinion, this movies gonna suck unless if it's aimed at kids which someone mentioned it was. Then it's only gonna suck unless if you're not a kid. Seriously, how can someone make a movie about a video game based on kind of trying to simulate real life?
