For those who may not know what DotA is.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_the_Ancients

Just wanted to see if there are any people here (who are/would be) interested in playing "Defense of the Ancients Allstars" together. I've only played a handful of games, and could really benefit from learning how to play with a friendly group.

Right now I know that I truly suck, yet I can see myself really liking this game! It's hard to learn with random people on-line (even with the guides I have read).

Your either...
A) Getting the Noob treatment from your own team
B) Getting pwned by the other team
C) Asked to leave or getting kicked
D) Forced to play with a bunch of other clueless players against ppl who obviously know what they are doing

I guess it's that way with most online games, but DotA has a particularly brutal community when it comes to new players; even in games titled "NOOBS Only!".

(To be fair I can understand why... no one likes to have a newb on there team and than have to devote 30mins to 1.5 hours of losing because 1 person on the team is clueless. And in this game one bad player can have more impact than 4 average to good players.

I totally agree with you, and it's the reason why I hardly pub. And if I do, I host. It's retarded how there is an expectation everyone must be pro at the game. I say get a life lol.

I would love to play, what time zone you in? I haven't played in a month, but I love playing when I do. I switch games a lot though and am sometimes to busy with work and school altogether. Add me on Bnet. It's stradigos.

I can host and have both list checker and ban list.

Thanks sid, I am in US EST. And I will add you ASAP.

I am just learning, so bear with me. BTW, I have tried playing the scenario under single player-> Custom Game : with 4 AI controlled players on my side, and 5 AI on the other. But, when the game starts I wind up being the only hero playing.

Is there some other way to get the bots in so I can practice by myself as well?

I have even tried setting the game mode to auto-pick thinking that would do it.

Nope, not that I know of. Your best bet is to try and get into pubs that have noob in the title. They generally won't flame you for being a noob there.

Don't know if you've been here yet or not, but check out http://www.dotastrategy.com/
