'nVidia GeForce 4 MX 64MB DDR'

FINALLY a beat a new computer in one aspect at least

Sounds like a nice new rig! The video card is most certainly not top of the line, (but it's waaaaaay over the GF2...) but everything else sounds great. Congrats!

The irony... you have an Athlon 2600+, and a paltry GeForce 4MX.

I only have a P4 1.6Ghz chip, but a juicy Radeon 9700 Pro powering the graphics under the hood of my beige box

I've got a TNT2 and a Conexant modem/sound card mix for sale if anyone wants them

(lol)

'The irony... you have an Athlon 2600+, and a paltry GeForce 4MX.'

My point exactly . A lot of dealers give out cheap video cards...

'I only have a P4 1.6Ghz chip, but a juicy Radeon 9700 Pro powering the graphics under the hood of my beige box'

Ack I'm one step below you... a 1ghz and a Radeon 9500 Pro.

Personally I always assemble my own PCs, so I don't have to worry about manufacturers cutting corners.

Indeed - the only problem is that you won't be able to use any of the new special FX in P5 (metal mapping, per-pixel lighting etc.)

He wouldn't on his GF2 either

RPGgamer, if you still have cash to spend, I could find you a good deal on a good video card if ya want

Rob, do you know if they'll work with my 9500? Or are these NV30/NV35-only features?

I sure hope I can use per-pixel lighing

RPGgamer, that'll be enough (at that time) for a Radeon 9800 Pro Ultimate-- easily the best card ever made to this date period. Rougly 3 steps ahead of mine, which is around 3 steps ahead of your current one.

Yeah, I have one of the worst comps here:

1.3 Ghrz Celeron Processor
512 MB Ram
4 MB Intel Graphics Video Card
CD-RW Drive
3 1/2 Floppy Drive
14" Monitor

I hate my video card, doesnt even support 32 Bit Color, cant wait to upgrade. Need some money though. Whats the best video card for $100 or less?

At first glance, I'm a mediocre mech pilot. Look again and you will see my battlemech's computer code rushing through my eyes. My Mech And I Are One!
