Rebranded? Why do you think that?
I think they made the announcement that way because of the anxious people on the DarkGDK forum.
The only difference in the .NET version is the built-in OOP classes, compared to DBPro and DarkGDK (C++), which is kind of a big change (as people have no need to worry about tracking IDs and VS's intelisense helps a lot remembering us the methods from a specific object), although you can still use it like DBPro, calling methods and specifying IDs.
