The only advice I can give is to be a touch more careful as to what you download and/or click on. Consider who made this "freeware" and why. I have downloaded a "video editing suite" before, only to find it runs the splash screen then tries to download all sorts of nasties.

They all sound like user-created problems to me.

Give it a defrag, clean out the registry, all that sorta stuff and you should be fine when it comes to speed.

Fixed.

And yes: either get AV (avast! recommended), or be more careful. Also, get NoScript for Firefox. It helps a fair bit (if not a lot).

A - You have posted tons of threads in the span of a week, several of which are very similar. Not breaking a written rule but definitely annoying.
B - You double post all the time, even when told not to.
C - The WIP post was basically advertising an empty site and an empty forum. The mods have closed down threads advertising copy-and-paste sites before, and we've been relaxed these last few months.

Cut down on the new threads please and try not to annoy the mods.

Take care of your laptop dude, get a decent internet security as well.

I may as well add my own problem to this thread, my Acer Aspire 6920G's keyboard has suddenly gotten a bit fussy, it will only work if the screen is a certain angle or if the laptop is leaning forward a bit. Weird, it seem to start happening after I used the internet around my friend's house yesterday, went home, turned on the laptop, started writing and then funky keyboard. It's not a huge problem, I mean I'm at Uni using the internet on my laptop right now and I'm having no problem what-so-ever now.

The keyboard problem might be a damaged ribbon cable. If you can remove it easily (some laptop keyboards are held in by little spring loaded clips at the edges) you might be able to replace the keyboard without voiding the warranty.

Ah cool, cheers - nothing major then, I'll get a techinical type dude to sort it out, just to make sure I can still keep my warrantee. I got friends studying a course in this.

You seem to have a damaged keyboard as well, as your grammar seems inaccurate...

"techinical" hmmm...I think I'll blame my keyboard this time...but it seems to be working properly now - however I didn't get anybody to check it out, so it it must be the pixies playing winding me up again...damn those pixies. Let's hope they don't do anything else.
