Ok, assuming I already had the models and all that, how would one add arms to weapons in x10 or else add them to custom weapons? From what I've seen, it looks like x9 uses two separate textures, but x10 doesn't support multi-texturing, does it?

Settle for nothing but the best.

Yes x9 can use multi texures. But as of now you can't use them in x10. Model pack 9 and 10 uses multi texture I know for a fact.(I think 5 and 6 as well) And so does some tree modles you can get(only works in x9 for now.)But with the migration x10 should get multi textures. As they said, there going to make all model packs and 3 party media work in x10. To do it in x9 all you have to do is leave the texture blank in the fpi.

No, I would do it myself, I'm not asking anyone to do it for me. I've already made models of arms and the model of the gun. I just don't know how they go together. So I open the model file of the gun and then apply the arms in the right places and then save it as one file?

Do the textures of the gun and arms have to be separate files, or do I have to combine the arms texture to the guns' and save it as one? From looking around, the Commando with the scope has the main texture of the gun and the scope has it's own texture as two different files. That whole part is confusing because this is X10, which supposedly doesn't have multi-texturing...

Settle for nothing but the best.

If you have model pack 6 for x9 use it as base for the hands.. they show up fine in game test but there are a few files that need to be copied over once you build the game.... it doesn't actually use multi-textures as the hands are a separate mesh..

this would be a good starting point to getting them..

I don't have any of the model packs, but I've downloaded the free elite and dual elite from the store so I'll use those.

But so that's the important part then? Each mesh can have it's own texture? (I've noticed it in most weapons with hands, the hands have their own seperate texture)

Yes each mesh can have its own texture... x10 simply doesn't multi texturing on a single mesh...

Oh, that's reasonable then. If I'm not mistaken, that's what every modern game does too...how does it know which texture to use though? Specify it in the .fpe?

I mean because I was looking at the commando, because it has a version with and without the scope and the scope has it's own texture. However, I don't see where it's told which texture to use on the scope...I mean it's not in the gunspec or anything...
