Hi, I was just wondering how I would go about triggering an effect (shader) in scripting, for example when I use the light switch to activate a light, I would also like to activate the shader of a lamp entity so that the lamp lights up.

sorry for the double post, but I already have the lighting worked out, so don't bother trying to explain to me how that works, I just wanna know how to activate the shader, or "effect" as it's called in the entity's properties.

I don't believe there is a way to give an entity a new shader to use during the game.

Yeah but you can destroy and replace it with a new identical one that has another shader.

Dynamic lights and shaders don't mix from what I've heard, but good luck anyhoo....
