I thought I would finally break into the on-line download market, so have decided to produce my own small weapon pack. I am also making my own website to sell these, and it should be ready and functional by this weekend.

it will retail for £4.99, and will contain both an mp5 and ak47, as well as a few mp6 hand re-textures and crosshairs.

If this proves successful, I will also be making a WW2 pack, which will include the Russian pps41 and another weapon, as well as a re-skin of the US soldier to be more like a Russian one.

Lastly, I am also offering you a unique opportunity. If anyone would like to sell their models, I will host them on my site. In exchange, I will take less of a cut than TGC does through their store, and any profits are turn into hard cash. Hosting for this site has been provided by 94mb.com, and I am also using their distribution company to process the downloads.

This means it will be at least as fast and secure as sites such as Turbosquid. You will also benefit from extra features such as google adwords and an included advertising package from my site, basically meaning your downloads will get international exposure.

Now, if the idea of you losing a percentage of your sales seems un-appealing, don't think of sales through my site as lost sales, think of them as extra. You could still host them on your own site, you will just not benefit from the extra services I will provide.

If you have any suggestions, please air them. I will also not be posting my site link, as allowing anyone to access it just yet *might* prove to be a security risk.

Looks good, but the textures could maybe use some work, the back of the AK looks a bit stretched. (I think?)
In all, very good work!

Best.

Are you referring to the stock? Because I should be able to fix that easily.

Yes, a while ago I decided I wanted to join in with the whole weapon making thing, and I personally am quite pleased with how they turned out.

Another thing that I did with the weapons was tailor them to work best in v1.07, and the iron sights are all modelled if someone wants to make them Airmod compatible at some point. Finally, I also managed to get some proper authentic sounds for the weapons.

If you're implying that I ripped it somehow...

Besides, a model of an AK47 is going to look like an AK47 regardless of who makes it, the references are obviously going to be similar.

If you're saying its as good as errant's, then thanks lol.

About selling in your store, may I sell my weapons (M09, look in the 3d chat) there?

poly count is around 1000 for the mp5 and 1200 for the AK, and I haven't even culled the side you can't see (for airmod compatibility). I'll prepare videos and multiple screenshots for when I present them.

For requests, I'll take e-mail addresses and work a system out. Basically, the online delivery company processes transactions and debits it to your pay-pal account, but it requires usage of a special online form that has to be manually generated. I won't take files off people until everything is sorted, since I feel it wouldn't be right unless I have it all professional and working.

Nice pack so far

Would be nice to see some Insurgent style weapons, any old russian - Iraq/Afghanistan invasion weapons work a RPG would be cool too just to go along with the AK47

Wire looks clean,
The way you textured your ak makes it look like it is made out of stone. It needs to look like metal.

also dont wireframe render like that, it doesnt look good because its not a solid wireframe.
Here use this rendering tut for a solid wire.

^^ excellent, I blame energy drinks for that sudden bout of paranoia heh heh.

Now an RPG would be awesome, I'll have to see about that. I also think perhaps a svt40 would be nice.

I'm surprised no-one has commented on the hands yet..

Are you using Red Devil's illigelly ripped Counter Strike Source arms. If so, remove them immediately.

If you want hands that are free to use, sold or not, check my profile for Simon Benge's kindly donated model pack 6 arms.

because a few people have been using them recently, and i dont want them to get sued or anything...

I'm using Simon's. I just re-skinned them to look a bit like CS hands. I dirtied them up, and most importantly, spent a significant amount of time making them seamless, which they originally were not.

Very good, please make a rocket laucher, the only one we have is the WW2 one. Also as you are using the MP6 hands, a knife for that hand set would be nice. Its good to see the MP6 hand set is getting extra weapons for those that use that hand set.

would you mind posting the refined seamless texture? (Without gloves)

Because that would make everyone's weapons look better and may drag model pack 6 out of the recycle bin of user's FPSC!

Ok, now for a big update...

The site is finished!

Check it out at http://www.fpsmodels.com

I will now be taking requests for people to have their material hosted on here. Please be aware that a cut will be taken from any sales, and it hasn't quite been decided. It will however be less than TGC takes from anything sold in the store.

and I will be releasing the hands shortly, when I've fiddled with the psd file.

Yea, we dont want gloves on the hands, plain is best so they go with all the other hands on MP6.
Why did you do an MP5 when there is one already in MP6? You want to expand MP6, no make guns that are already in it.

I could give you the gloved ones too if you want that, consider it a gesture of good will

And the one in the pack is an MP5k, it's a lot different from the standard mp5.

Either way, here's the hand texture:

Hey,

I love the guns man!
They look like they were hard to make.

In the very first screen of the AK, how did you get the blood splat to look like that?

All games should have a rocket launcher, Quake, Doom 'et all', its standard, but in fpsc we only have one with the stock ww2 one.
