Hello everyone!

It's my birthday, and I've had DarBASIC for a year now. Cool!
I still haven't done anything with it. I've made test 'games' that have failed miserably, which made me get high-strung over it. I did not start small. I started programming, fully expecting to be able to write a cool rpg game within a month. I was wrong. I am now, in celebration of owning DBC for a year, going to do the Binary Moon Tutorials. I can't wait to learn the right stuff in the right order!!

Do some of you remember when you got DB? If so, have far have you come in programming? I'm just curious!

Happy Birthday.

I started with dbc back in 2002. Didn't have internet at the time and the "tutorials" didn't help. So I am pretty much self taught.
In 2006 I think, I bought DBPro and so far I haven't made anything decent in it yet.

I started in game programming because I wanted to make a pokemon game But that changed and now I want to make horror games.

I had DBPro about a year ago, had it on for about 5 days, couldn't code at all. I asked for help and people said read a book. But Book is stupid.

I want to upgrade to DBPro eventually, but I also will need a new computer to run it...

Ah well. I look forward to actually finishing the Binary Moon tutorial. I keep running the lesson files in DarkEDIT. I can't believe that the speed maintains at 40 FPS!! I guess functions are responsible for that? Cool! I can't wait to experiment with it more...

I got Darkbasic in 2004, it had launched me into the computing world, without it I probably would not know what I know today. I started with high goals in making James bond game, in making that game it taught me loads. I never finished it properly but it did work. Then I moved onto DBP and started working on another game this time a third person shooter, again I gave up. Each time you learn more and more, but you also learn the limits of the language. Then I left game making and learnt PHP and Linux. And well now i back using C++. Once you master Darkbasic you can move up a level, and the up again, and again. Also I learnt a lot from the people on these forums, I always asked questions without researching it And then got flamed. They even made a thread complaining about me Just found it http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=65331&b=2that's before I changed my username.

And happy birthday too
