Ok so after around 1 and a half months my Dad finally got me a new hard drive (my other one was broken)

Now its a SATA which are actually a lot cheaper now a days. 250GB SATA II one. Now I made a floppy with the drivers for it for the motherboard and it simply doesn't recognise it.

I printed off a guide that tells me to make sure SATA operation Mode is set to RAID in the BIOS but that option is no where in the BIOS. And when I try to install Windows XP it doesn't recognise the drive.

So does anyone have any experiance in installing SATA Drives and stuff.

SATA isn't worth it!

Please help-Using a 600Mhz laptop is not good!

Then the problem's on a bios or hardware level, not a driver level.

Check your cables. Make sure you got power going to it. Make sure your bios is set for SATA drives. Sometimes you can disable them.

Additionally, it shouldn't be set for RAID. Lord knows why you're manual tells you to do that.

(PS. You probably don't need any special drivers to install windows on your hdd)
