Yeah its stupid and I did search, but is the hud the lives and health in the corner or what is it?

HUD stands for "Heads Up Display", which is pretty much anything that will always be visible to the player, no matter where they are or where they're looking. So basically, it's an image or text that is pasted onto the screen.
