look under About>License for the license

this is quoted from it.
Quote: "Conditions of Use

Use of the Textures is only allowed under one or more of the following conditions:
- Private or commercial use
- Use in 2D or 3D computer graphics, movies and printed media
- Incorporation in computer games, 3D models
- Selling 3D models bundled with modified versions of the textures, when the texture is customized for the 3D model

It is NOT permitted to:
- Sell or distribute any of these textures in an unmodified form, or where the derived product you are selling or distributing is a Texture or a collection of Textures. In other words: Do not sell or distribute any of these textures (modified or not) by itself or in a texture pack!
- Interfere with the security or otherwise abuse, disrupt, place excessive loads on, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the CGTextures website or any system resources or networks connected to this website.
- Mass download all Textures and other materials on the CGTextures website, with the goal to make a local copy of the website. Users who try to mass download will be banned from the website automatically."

Yes, use them in your games. No problem. The only thing you cannot do is distribute or sell them as textures or collections of textures.

Best.

You may do do if you use them as parts of your texture, like put 3 layers onto eachother etc. So that they are heavily edited.

Negative BVG... you do not need to alter them at all if you incorporate them into your product, game, ad, whatever. You just can't redistribute them as "Textures".

Best.

Now I am confused, may I release for example a segment made with texture from CG? Or is it just for games

There does seem to be some confusion in the license when it comes to an unincorporated texture, or a texture that is not part of a game.

I believe that the meaning of this line:

Quote: "- Sell or distribute any of these textures in an unmodified form, or where the derived product you are selling or distributing is a Texture or a collection of Textures. In other words: Do not sell or distribute any of these textures (modified or not) by itself or in a texture pack!"

is, as clarified by the writer when he says "In other words:" that the textures cannot be distributed by themselves as textures.

Since that is his only "You may not" concerning their use, then the "You may" allows you to use and distribute them when used to create a game, model, 2d or 3d model. A segment has a mesh and is a model.

As for this line:

Quote: "Selling 3D models bundled with modified versions of the textures, when the texture is customized for the 3D model"

it deals with selling only - not use, and here he make a distinction between unmodified and modified textures that he does not make when talking about use in your games and so on.

You could always write the owner for verification.

Best.
