I decided a little while ago to build my own GH controller. I began by faffing with multiples of the Golden Ratio on paper and then got a nice shape together. I've got most of the electronics together for the mousewheel-strumbar and the USB interface PCB I got from an old gamepad. I've even printed it out onto A4 sheets and I think I've nailed the shape pretty much.

But I can't think of a colour/simple design that would work well without it being too much like the Red Special. I've considered spraying it white with out of focus blue clouds, black, silver, all sorts. But I just can't make up my mind and I'm sure someone out there has a great idea.

So I'm asking for ANY ideas, no matter how silly or bonkers they are, as to what design/colour should go on the body.

And yes, I know the neck tapers the wrong way. ^^ Any comments on the shape/proportions valued greatly. I took inspiration from the Gibson SG and the Red Special mainly.

Thank you for any ideas you might provide.

PSYCHOBILLY FREAKOUT!

lol, I'd say follow Herman Li's E-Gen signature guitar ^_^. It's got hand-grips on one of the flames!

... Also, holy hell, how are you able to do this?

Cheers,

I think you should color it like this

I like your ideas; there's some nice wacky and unusual stuff there. I've decided to spray the front white, apply a Green Hill Zone decal that covers the whole front and then spray the back black.

Do what? I just made some boxes on paper all proportioned using 2^x or PHI*x, sketched a nice shape into it using pen, photographed it with a five year old camera, cleaned it up in Paint Shop Pro 4 and lined it all back up using Paint. Or did I just get the wrong end of the stick?
Oh, and it's awesome printed out onto A4 sheets. ^^

Sorry to double post, stupid iMac won't let me add the image to another post. But hey, after nearly an hour in Illustrator and Photoshop, here it is!

I'm pretty sure he was referring to building the guitar controller/USB interface, not your proportional boxes!

[EDIT]
I don't care what image you put on it... It still looks like a cats head! lol!
