Credit goes to Jeku for the thread title (love it). But seriously, does the gaming industry think were made of money and time, they do this every year, release a ton of triple A games within weeks or even days of each other, simple question... why?

To make money, and compete with each other at a major time of the year, at which people buy loads of gifts. Its not like all those games are made by the same company, and this company is conspiring to make everyone poor. They're all seperate and fighting for a slice of the big, tasty, pie ... *mouth waters*.

edit: I was also beatz to the answer, oh well, mines longer

I agree, but i'm wandering if outside forces would contribute, like games conventions etc... Also it's like releasing GTA 4 and Saints Row 2 (good idea to delay it, it's like GTA without the seriousness ) at the same time, theres healthy competition and there more like trying to beat the company over the head with there shiny new product. This can't be any good for the gaming platform nor games companies, cause great games will be missed overshadowed by great others.

You forgot Fable 2, and CoD:WaW I think.....

Christmas is only a couple of months away, so the game developers release the games strategically at the time 12 year olds are hanging from the mothers ears repeatedly screaming that they'd love to have Guns 'n' Gore V for christmas....

God, I may be very young, but I hate kids that reapeat you're name CONSISTENTLY till they get you're attetntion, in this case, someones called James, he gets his name shouted out 4 times every SECOND!! jeez, I hate it.

I particularly dont care, I know pedophiles use the internet to manipulate children, and I`m afraid no matter how deeply I trust someone on the internet I'll never meet them in Real life. Therefore I am preety much a person who prefers self-company.(I hate humans, Humans are stoopid.) xD

You shouldn't post your age. And yes, obnoxious children are annoying and are the beginnings of the elder chav.

@ Matuka - Please don't post your age

@ OP - Just the holidays mate, this is mega crunch time, november everyone and their mother is going to be out buying this and that for their loved ones. I'm always in bliss during the holiday rush for this reason (the compaines are going to try harder to get us which means their products will be of an even higher quality) Though, I know what you mean, it is so tempting to just kill my spending cash on games.

ya, actually some companies have temporarily lost their sale to me because i am choosing to buy only a few games in the coming months: Gears of War 2 and maybe Fallout 3. There are tons of games that are coming out that look good, but if they don't look amazing, i don't think i'll be buying them.

I can't remember the last time I spent more than £3.50 on a game. Just wait a bit and prices come crashing down.
