I don't do this often, but I thought I'd share.

I'm making the "Sequel That Wasn't" to the E.T. video game for the Atari. This is for the RetroRemakes Compo.

Story: E.T. has come back to Earth seeking to BBQ all those responsible for the Atari game. All the doctors, developers, children, dick tracys, producers, and roman architecture. (and maybe some of his Hollywood alien rivals...)

Why? NO idea.

But it is murder. REVENGE!!!!!!!11

I was originally creating the game in the Ruby language, but hit a wall and had to think fast, so I spent the past couple days porting it to DBP (with Diggsey's rad Box2D plugin) and I've got it up to speed.

This is a video I made for ootoob. It is of the Ruby version, but the DBP version has the exact same functionality. (It actually runs a little smootherly)

And last, but not least, some screenies of the new, DBPer version:

I plan on posting a demo in the next day or so. Sooo... watch this space!

Looks similar to the failed Atari one except 10000000000 times better. Good work.

P.S., Lol, "I'm a crate"

Good luck. Awesome idea! I do vote, however, to see those holes in their original way.

Nice. Play mechanics and control system seems sweet. Mouse to aim and keys to move ET? ET looks good, plus he fires shedloads of missiles. Seems a lot more badass than the film version, plus the music helps. I look forward to playing it.
