I think there is a thermal shader that Evolved make for DBP, and if memory serves (which it may not) you apply it to the model... so you would need a way to actively change shaders on entities during gameplay. With that ability in place it would be rather easy to do.
I think I just found another cool thing to add to my Mod.
But it may need to wait until V1.08
