HI,
Other forum posts people are saying just to export to .x and open in Entity Workshop. I have tried this but when I open my models in EW they are invisible! Also how do I export textures from SketchUp to EW?

I wish to create these models for the TGC Store so can I just upload the .x?

Thanks for your help...

You aint gonna get far in the TGC store if you can only model in sketchup, and dont even know how to export to FPSC.

I believe Daarboven wrote a fantastic turorial on getting sketchup models into FPSC, I suggest you read up on it.#

It took me a lot of practising before I was finally let in to the store, and I've been modelling for years.

Good luck.

Aaagreen, whats with you hating Sketch Up so much?

They aren't invisible, just really tiny. Try making your models huge in SU and then your models won't be as tiny.

Read daarboven's tut.

I dont hate sketchup. I just dont think it's a program to start modelling with, because you get used to the ease and simplcity, and when you get to a more complex "real" modelling program, you get confused.

I agree. You should probably start learning Blender or one of the other more advanced programs.

Don't even touch blender that program is to complex and it is useful, but it is to useful it's like drinking tap water in a sold gold cup rather then a plastic cup, whats the point of using such a complex program on a simple game engine?. I prefer 3ds max + milkshape + sketchup combo. Sketchup is very, very good for scenery modeling and much easier the only thing its bad at it characters and animated objects.

You prefer 3DS max to Blender? That costs more than $3000, and Blender is free. I think that might be, as you would say,

I understand that, but 3DS max seems to be going to more trouble to model for a cheap program than Blender. But then again, this is like debating whether the sky is blue.

Thanks guys,
I would just like to say i am only [mod edit]please don't post your age...[/mod edit]! I have got good on SketchUp but I have only been modeling as a hobby. I use sketchup because it is free and blender has a reputation for being over complicated. I cannot afford to buy software for this at the moment. However if I am able to create models for some revenue I can always upgrade.

Thanks for the tutorial tip. I read the tutorial and can now import models perfectly fine! Just wondering, how much can you realistically make in the store?

Thanks for all your help,
SSP
