Hi,

I'm looking for a script that can trigger something when it sees a player... for example, I put a camera somewhere and if the player walks in front of it it makes a man come out a door or whatever.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Very possible, I can't script it up for you, but I can point you where to go with it.....

Firstly, you'll need PLRCANBESEEN, to check if, you guessed it, whether the player can be seen. Secondly, you'll need ACTIVATEIFUSED, to make the camera activate the enemy specified in it's If Used field, and spawn it, (use the spawn by trigger method, only use the camera instead of the trigger).....

I remember doing this for the PGPS Comp last year! Man, everyone thought that was just amazing back then.

"Back then" as in, before all these new updates.

Actually back before the V1.07 source was released even.

Thank you everyone. I didn't intend this "as a request" rather as a bit of a starting point. I'm okayish at scripting but still have a bit more juicy bits to tackle with it. I've got the rough idea now... I'll share some bits when I'm done.

You don't need a rough idea. The actual script for it is in the official community guide.

some people would rather just get help with which direction to go, and get their themselves.

Thats how I am and I like when people are willing to learn and do it themselves, but sometimes you just need a starting point you know?

Well, as much as I would like to get into the different ways people learn... why don't we just stop while we're ahead and leave it where it is?
