Ok, for the next few weeks I'm going to be crunching to make an 18+ gore pack for TGC. Some of the gorier stuff in the store will likely be included as well, with new shaders and texture variatons.

So here's your chance to let me know what other things you would like to see included, pretty much anything goes, nothing sexually explicit though obviously. I need ideas fast so post your requests here!

Well if your already doing the ogre lets see.....

Quote: "Maybe some zombies with missing limbs and stuff like that."

Id' really like to see that with like raggy cloths and more human like then the others.

and i was thinking like some evil gory animals such as maybe like a wolf or a giant evil crow i mean it would be really interesting to see that pan out.

BTW Bond, would you by chance maybe offer a version of the pack for other engines then fpsc, so they could be alittle more high poly and stuff, im not talking about you having to have support for it but id love to get your stuff working with Leadwerks.

Yeah, perhaps you could try your hand at modern gory stuff, Bond. Or some scifi-ish gore.

I want zombie limbs I can use as weapons... Bashing a Zombie with the arms/legs of his fallen brethren =

Other than that all I want is the chainsaw brute... I've wanted him since I first saw him..

Some ideas for your pack, Bond...

Some normalish looking zombie(s) suitable for texture swapping (ie not too deformed of faces and simple clothing)

A really decayed zombie with massive amounts of flesh missing and bones showing.

A half eaten character or entity and some zombies with a feeding animation ( I love in movies where the character goes into a room and OMG zombies are eating some poor sap).

A hand that comes through a hole in the wall or floor and freezes the player but doesn't really do much if any damage.

Sexy zombies like in the Naked Ape video Fashion Freak

A lower poly horde zombie without mouth geometry and maybe without individual fingers.

Relatives/friends of the chainsaw brute which use normal weapons. Should be creepy hill/swamp-billy style but not so deformed (TCM-style).

Alternate version of the chainsaw brute with a full-face helmet or ballistic facemask. The idea being that it's a juggernaut-like character protected from headshots. Maybe he also has a non-decapitation death so he can come back later in the game.

Now you're talking! Some GREAT ideas there Errant, and I'll definitely be using some of those!

Keep 'em coming, I want to have at least a semi-finalized idea of what I'm going to do in the coming days so I can plan my time wisely.

Awesome. You could probably split into two packs. One for zombies the other inbred inhabitants and have a discount when ordering both together (like MPs9/10).

I like the idea of Errant's hills have eyes style characters. I think you should consider doing some non bipedal characters, as we are severely lacking in beasts.

Thanks Nickydude I forgot about that game - I remember playing the PC demo several years ago, great characters.

I will definitely try my hand at at least one non-biped character - I think...

All these posts, and all they mention for gore is zombies and characters. So considering everyone posted about that, let's put in these ideas:

1. Body parts. Not necessarily usable as weapons, but severed hands, legs, kneecaps, etc. And bones - some picked clean, some with some meat still on them. Would make for a nice graveyard scene or something out of "house of 1000 corpses".

2. More weapons. Not the usual stuff like chainsaw and axe. Bloddy kitchen knife. Or an ice pick. A noose would be good too. Actually, a full-fledged gallows would be interesting.

3. Torture chamber implements. Iron maiden, the rack, stretcher, wall irons (hand and leg - maybe with some leftover hands or feet still stuck in them?).

4. Some new decals. Like vomit, bile, fecal matter. Nothing more gross than walking into a room filled with flies and having to ask yourself "What IS that stench?".

5. Dead animals. Birds, deer, cats, dogs, cows - whatever you can think of. In different stages of decay. Nobody ever mentions what happens to animals when Z-Day hits. Why don't we ever see zombies eating animals (except in one scene from Night of the Living Dead where a zombie eats a mouse)?

6. Anything made from human remains. Think Ed Gein - or "House of 1000 Corpses". Lamps made from the spine. A throne of bone. Church pews made from the torso and legs of people (that's right - literally sitting in someone's lap). And while we're on the subject, how about a stuffed human head? We have wall-mounted deer, why not humans?

As you can see, I watch way too many horror flicks. And when I think of gore, I don't just think of zombies - I try to think of what film makers put into their movies and expand on that.

This is all I have for now. bond1, let me know if any of these are any good, if you're going to use any of them, and how much your model packs will be selling for.

Cool, where do I start!

I have wondered what your shroudling character looks like under that cloth! With the moan in agony sound I have always thought that his jaw would be missing!

Limbs parts!

Different versions of your zombies like missing limbs, arms or legs also a zombie could rip his own arm off and beat you with it! I know u did some versions of zombie 1 but could do the same to 2 3 and 4. I think the fat zombie 4 would look cool without guts (big gap)
Like you said some different version of textures!

This one may be too much but a zombie kid with an eerie giggle.

Zombie animals, dog, crow, pig or just dead animals

I don’t know if it’s just me but I find clowns scary, a walking dead clown!

I agree with with the zombie animals!
Or maybe some freaky versions of them!
Like a mix of a dog and a pig? or something.
But than a reall nasty mix...almost no skin...just some freaky flesh.

And maybe some big zombies or horror dudes. Not the avarage day zombie.
No, some zombies that are mighty muscular! And have a metal suit!
Maybe those big fellows in Condemned 2? Dont know if you ever played it?
(actually just like Errant said)

And if you ever played Clive Barker's Jericho, the boss in the Roman age.
The big fat one, he was great

Also! Maybe some tortured souls type of characters?
You can find some ideas on google...since there are so many of them.
They are like the Hellraiser crew.

Those were my ideas.

Some ideas:

-A zombie that is always smiling (I mean a huge freakish smile) without eyelids.

-Children Zombies.

-Mutilated, undead, skinned animals with their eyes still intact.

-Bloated, drowning victim zombie.

-Zombies that appear as cute, cuddly mascot animals but go homicidal up close.

-A squirming, screaming body that has been dipped in fried fish batter with some of the facial features and body parts burned so severely they've slid off the bones.

-A body in a bathtub that has been rotting so long it's turned into soup. Only the arms and legs remain.

-A body hung by it's own entrails on a bramble branch.

-A fat, limbless torso squirming with maggots.

-A body with the upper half of it burnt and stuck in an oven, the other half intact. Like a stock photo house mom from the 50's - 60's.

-Gory, twisted parodies of cartoon characters.

I would love to see you do this gore idea bond1. Have a soldier with a javelin sticking in him, with blood and skin lying to the side of his body.

To expand on this, could you do some Vlad the Impaler type stuff? Like poles sticking out of the ground with people impaled on them, in various stages of death?

No really....

I'd love some mutants, big claws, gnashing teeth, efficient and brutal. I'd love stuff like that....

I'd love some gory people. But not normal, but like during "birth" of an Alien or after death of some enemies in RE4 - people without head, legs, arms, with open chest etc. with something coming (like tentacles, mutant arms or sth like that) out of their wounds...

Make games, not war.

Well I have more than enough ideas now to fill several packs, thanks. Nickydude is right - this is such an insanely popular genre, I should probably stick with it for a while. And from the popularity of games like Gear of War 2, I think parents are willing to buy 18+ content for their kids, so I don't think I'll have to worry there either. I think TGC realises this too.

I also like the idea of some "Condemned" style weapons, common things that you can pick up and start kicking some homeless drug-addict butt with...who doesn't like a good bum fight?

In time I'd like to do more boutique type ideas. I've always wanted to do a "carnival of horror" type pack, with scary clowns and carnie folk, and warped "funhouse" type things. I've already got a folder full of reference pictures that I've collected over the past couple years. Maybe when the demand for traditional gore/horror starts to wane...

Would you be doing characters / weapons or would you also be doing static entities, things that could populate a horror setting?

What did you have in mind? Most horror settings are populated with common items - run down urban settings, trash, blah blah blah. Or did you mean static stuff like body parts, hanging corpses, etc? I haven't really made a final decision yet on what to make.

I have waited long for this day...
we need brains, maulded, torn, and mutalated corpes's, and meat chunks.
(yes, I am morbid) as far as zombies go, try looking at pictures of cannibal corpes's album art.

Heres what I would like to see.
I think I could use these the most!

- Dirty and/or bloody civilians that you can place beside or
halfway in a door and when you approach them... they look up
and speak something like "Hey! You... please HELP ME!" And hegets
jerked in a jerking animation that pulls him into the next room.
Maybe also take that same model and make dead versions of him.
Maybe the neck torn to shreds or he is nothing but gibs... idk.
*If not for the pack... please consider for me. I've ALWAYS wanted a victim character.*

- Maybe a grotesque zombie with a large mouth and humanoid body that can crawl on the ceiling and drop down to latch onto your face.

- I also agree on the gorey bodies. We need A LOT of mangled
people to increase the effects of our games.

- Maybe some people with bullet holes in their head and chest...
also maybe those who completely lost their head by a rifle shot
or something... idk.

If I can think of more... I'll tell you.
THanks

Id like to see large decoration items, I was recently looking at the original Doom with upgraded effects, 3d models dynamic lights etc, any way they replaced the sprites with models, it had some great ones of bodies hanging from chains from the ceiling, also tiered posts decorated with body parts or skulls, like a creepy orniment, so overall Id like to see large stuff that decorates a level and can be used over and over, not a one shot deal. Also Id like to see wall deorations and things that break up the 4 walls look of just about all fpsc games, so I want to see enclaves and posts and arch sections and stuff one bolts to the walls to break them up so the level is less square.

Id ignore all the comments for things like a head in a toilet, or a jar with head in and all that kind of thing, you use it once and thats it, so a bit of a waste of time, create stuff one can use over and over in the level to decorate it, not put in once for a little thrill.

And no more zombie characters, they can skin them if they need one, we dont need any more of the things.

well another idea I had was like vampires n werewolves, getting aside from the zombie themes. It would be cool to play something along the lines of the Underworld movies, and such.

horror
that would be the coolest model pack ever
my idea's are
for characters,

-you must create very fast, low health, skinny zombies, that come in hordes of at least a group of 10 or something

-or create silent hill kinda monsters, they are cool

-a headcrab kinda thing

- a zombie attack dog

As for the weapons,

-the chainsaw from the chainsaw brute good for killing zombies

-human legs, arms, bones and that kinda stuff that makes it real bloody

-a lead pipe's, a fake arm or leg(don't know how to call those plastic things)like in condemmed 2

- an bloody hook

entity's,

- voodoo dolls, signs, rocks, trees, houses

- human, monster and animal parts of the body

- much better bloodstains

- a house for the chainsaw brute(something like leatherface's house)

- a white noise tv

- an hanging candelar

- scary furniture(for instance: ripped open couches with blood and human parts in it or broken chair's with blood or an ear)

- and i have an lot of other stuff in my mind but that is to much for this post

That were a few of my idea's

sorry for my bad english (i am dutch)

I dunno if it's already been mentioned, as I'm not going through everything suggested, but I'd love to see something like this:

Higher-Res picture

It'd be cool to see something like that, with remnants of a military uniform and equipment still hanging on it, and a very different walk style (in this case, crawling) than your typical zombie.
