What do you guys think, this is my first real working model that looks OK, maybe it will go on the store.

It shoots bazooka shells at you and it moves side to side. Of course everything can be changed in game, the scripts, life, etc.

I am planning to make a few more skins for it.

Please give me your comments. There is an in game screen-shot too.

BTW - The model is okay. Texture is crap though, no offense.Its just a picture that was applied to the model. Stretched in some areas too. Is it animated? Plus you need an in-game screenshot.

Yeah texture DEFINITLEY needs work, seeing as how you most likely use a real picture as your texture. Model is alright like i stated before. Is it animated? Does it do what you said it does? (Shoot out a rocket)

I made the texture in photoshop, that is original, and is a little stretched out, yes it shoots rockets at you.

Yes I did, I used carrara, is just that it took me a while to import correctly in FPSC, and I got lazy and didn't go back to carrara to fix the uv, I just stretched the model in milkshape 3d.

Ok, if you have photoshop, you can really go far with the texture. I'd follow Henry's metal tutorial, and add detail from there.

It ain't bad. Does the gun itself rotate? I could see it rotating with the body having a spasm or something lol.

It does not rotate yet, I was just testing the AI , the entire model rotates and strafes. well, it just glides side to side. You can always edit with right click and leave it in one place.

yeah the model itself is actually quite good, and it's not the texture, well it is but its more the way you have UV mapped it. You seem to use the same part of the texture all over the model on every face. What i would suggest, is some uv tutorials, then re map it and it will look a lot better! keep it up

The texture itself wasnt the problem. the problem was that its one texture all over the model. maybe like make the legs have a roboticy feel, then have the part that shoots out the rocket have like a different color maybe a green with some silver on it or something, idk use your imagination.

...the model is an interesting one. Kinda has an alien technology feel and look to it.

The texture is most definitely what's holding this model back, and garnering most of the negative comments.

C&C:

As is, it is boring, lifeless, and lacks the detail necessary to make this a viable model. It hurts my eyes, and brain, just looking at it, trying to figure out what the heck it is.

Since it appears to be beyond your skillset (not your fault), allowing someone on these boards to UV MAP and create a properly laid out texture scheme would make a dramatic improvement, and be a very wise thing to consider doing.

Plopping a simple texture, no matter how much time you've invested in it, over the top of this model, without a proper UV Map, is never going to improve it...

Hey Programador hispano, why dont you try to make a texture that looks similar to the bazooka you have show here:

Notice the bazooka has different features and colors? That is what everyone is trying to get you to see bud. Your model is well crafted, but the texture is whats causing your model to not get the attention it deserves. You worked out the core elements of your model by creating the geomotry, now try to take the time to build the charicteristics of your model and bring it to life by developing a unique texture. Your on the right track, just change your mindset and focus on texture quility for a moment, youll find yourself pleasently supprised once you can capture exactly what your were trying to achieve in the first place; trust me.
