i downloaded the update and tried to install it but it says i don't have a version of dark basic. how do i get it to install?

It is possible that you unintentionally tried to update the trial if it was still on your computer. I don't think the trial will accept updates, but I may be wrong.

Just confirm your installation being patched is the purchased version and not the trial and try again. I myself became confused when I had multiple versions installed at the same time.

Uninstall it completely, reinstall the first version you've downloaded then install the update. This happened to me and this is how I got around it. Seems like you can install one update ontop of another (for some of us anyway.)
