Is there any way to change hud display in games made with FPS creator v1, and how can I do that? I want to disable health and lives apperance on the hud?

P3 CPU 500 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, 16 MB VRAM, WinXP.
Almost the best configuration for game development.

The simple answer to this is yes. You can change, add, remove, do what you will to any/all HUDs that are either stock or that you create.

There are plenty of tutorials out here. I'd recommend reading the official community guide from e-cover to e-cover. That was probably the most invaluable tool I have come across that helped me (and thanks to NickyDude for putting that together - you are da man!).

First, using Windows Explorer, find and make a backup copy of the script setuplevel.fpi file. Reason is that if you modify this and you don't have a backup copy, you're screwed. Next, in FPSC with a map loaded, click File and then on Build Game (or just Build, depending on which version you have). I'm not sure what the name of the tab is, but one of the options will list the Global Script used for the game. Click on the ellipsis (the ... button), and you will get a screen that allows you to change the default settings. Scroll through the list until you see the settings for Health and Lives.

Again, PLEASE backup your setuplevel.fpi file before doing this. If you don't, the only way to retrieve it if it gets too screwed is to either beg for it or reinstall FPSC. And you're better off to reinstall than to ask cuz it will take less time. So backup the file!
