Hallo,

I am learning scripting now and have one question.
Can I change the ambience color and the gravity at the same time in one script. So I could put it in a Trigger Zone. Can I change the gravity of the player?
Ok, I know, that were two questions.

Thanks,

Not sure about changing gravity... I know there is a "NOGRAVITY" command for entities (turns gravity OFF) but not for the player.

Perhaps you could make the player jump higher for less gravity and jump lower for more gravity.

And yes, you can change the ambience as well as the above in a single script.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, you can turn gravity off for entities but you can't turn it back on.

Does it mean that they float around? That'd be great for a 'Dead Space' themed game, with all the body bits flying around

On the script, it should say the ambience colours are ambiencered=x, ambienceblue=x and ambience(?I get mixed up)=x. And then, as Plystire said, NOGRAVITY toggles..You guessed it: Zero-Gravity!

Psh, I wish! It doesn't toggle, it just sets. Toggle would imply that using the command again would reverse the effects... which it doesn't.

'Sets' then lol. Does it cause the entity to float around then?

Yup, it'll drift around without friction or gravity.

actually i did come across a script in the script bank that made you jump higher. its called lightsupergravity.fpi your suppose to add it to a dynamic light and when your in the light range you can jump a lot higher take a look at it.

OMG, I'm in love. Dead Space, get ready for another flying zero-G gore filled room!

I don't think so, when something's triggered, it stays triggered. Unless you modify the script! Ply, don't penalise me for this, it's just an estimate of the script.

Yeah, I modded it so you could jump when near an object or something. I even removed the jump bonus and left it with the flashing! Nice!
