Hey, long time no see. I've been playing with Bond's wicked character pack and doing some modifications.. Heres my WIP of the Crusader. I'm re-doing him to be a bit like the evil Vikings in the (awful) movie Pathfinder.

The texture is on it's way. I want to add some skulls to his belt and modify the sword. maybe add a cape, and try to get some alpha mapped rags hanging from him. I'll update again soon.
Right now, my only mods are the fur on the tunic, around the neck, and the gloves, plus adding the horns, and grubbying up everything . Eventually I'll do the whole texture new (just making sure I don't offend anyone!)

I always end up re-texturing this stuff and never get it in the store or anything because I don't have the original rights. Bond if you're about, and if you're prepared to do it, I'll give away the mod as a free bonus with the regular crusader in the store. I feel bad to always post stuff that I can't give out.

Thats pretty sick Butter Fingers.
Would you mind grubbing up some civilian characters
with that sort of texture? It would make a normal type person look
like a post-apocalyptic- poverty stricken, civilian.

I need something like that for my civilians
in Dusk. If you can't do it yourself, will you please at
least email me some steps you took to make that knight look
beautiful?

Thanks

ASTEK,
Thanks dude, I actually have some stuff you might like. I've been digging through my old PC and found loads of old stuff from projects that I never finished that I'm just going to give away. I need to organise alot of it, and get it so that it's compatible with the new FPSC, but once that's done I'll start uploading. For your sort of thing, theres a bunch of Post-modern marines, with rusty armour and bio-enhancements, and some nasty irradiated types. There are also about 10-15 retextures of the MP2 thugs that might work out quite well!

Braden
Thanks dude, I'll post another update tomorrow If I get any work done on it.

That sound pretty sick man.
Unless they have normal maps and all that jazz,
I can create some for it and hope they work in X10
when I switch over in a few weeks.

Ahh good to see your awesome arwork back here!
This is looking pretty sick dude! i really hope you can release it!
My only crit is that the texture seems too dark, and i can't really see much detail in it. Obviously i still think it looks wicked but thats just what i would change if i were doing it. But still keep it up dude!

Hope your back for good!

Dr P,

Fair shout man, I have to say I'm a little at a loss for getting my colours correct right now, I dropped my computer on the pavement and the screen has gone as bright as an FPSCx10 level, so It's really hard to judge stuff at the mo. I'm probably going to get a new screen soon, but at the moment there's literally 1 very special angle where the brightness is kind-of right!

...it did stink up the place, didn't it?

Those dragon sleds were cool, though!

The texture looks cool man , only few things you may change...

The brightness on the gloves and the fur looking a bit to high compering to the rest of the armour , that looks to much rusted.
I would make the contrast of the fur+gloves lower and the armour higher so it fits together.
But hey it may be my monitor.. I have been messing around with the contrast a week ago , to get better colors.

Best

Somebody please give me a job...

Dr Parsnips you have a valid point no doubt,
however butter fingers I personally really think that the darkness of the textures compliments the character well.
It makes it look very grunge and sinister which is not relatively seen a lot with textures on characters to date.
However its totally your choice in the end,
just airing my thoughts.

Still fantastic work man!

Lol. I turned of about half way through. It was so mediocre. But at least it inspired some character designs.

Strelok, agreed, at the moment I'm kind of laying the groundwork. Most of the textures do need matching.. the fur around the neck needs some shadow where it meets the helmet especially.

Yeesh! I'd be nowhere without bond's original! It's a very tidy piece of work, both texturally and on the UV side. And I love the fact bond always slips in a little surprise, like UV mapping the crotch into a space in the eye slits of the helmet or something, so after 30 minutes of searching you're like.. ."oh so THATS where he UV mapped it!"

Braden, I cant help but make grunge. I've been doing alot of non-violent, more abstract and weird things lately, and I fancied a return to grungy-grandmother-scaring evilness for a bit!
