Hi guys

I want to know what to include in a BIN file which is included with an overlay. Is that a script? Well, I'm developing an overlay creator for FPSC. As you may already know I'm from GREGON STUDIOS and we are developing Free softwares for FPS Creator. We have already developed the FPI Scripter. And we've got a request regarding an Overlay creator. We have already finished scripting the importing and exporting of textures and texture scripts but we are STUCK in scripting the BIN file.

Just go through an Overlay file and you will notice a file named BIN. Just wanted to know what was included in it.

Thanks

If you're talking about the *.bin files that accompany entities and segments, then that file is created by FPSC and you won't need to worry about making it yourself.

so that means....the application should be designed in a way that it automatically copies that particular *.bin file to the user created overlay folder?

If that is so......the application is ready to be deployed!

Plystire....keep up your helping work! Thankx!

No, it means if the BIN file does not exist, then the program will create it when loading your map.

So, don't worry about them, unless you want to delete it.
That way, you know the new one created by the program would reflect the changes you made and your edit will function properly.

NOTE: There is an option to delete ALL of your DBO and BIN files when you update the editor.
Its best to get rid of them after any changes made and let the program create new ones.

So bottom line is ...

DELETE the BIN and DBO files. DO NOT Copy them.

Have u guys tried the FPI Scripter? I hope it was good. I just needed to help the community in some way. I'm planning to develop it's 2nd version with a huge library of pre-written scripts and all. Besides I'm not onto scripting. I just created that for script lovers and not 4 myself.

Thankx guys
