when runing ill run mabey 10 15 feet and as soon as i get to just alittle bumpy groung almost flat i stick there till i jump or move my mouse when going up a mountain i go up a little and the same thing till i jump or move my mouse then again ill get stuck a few feet later why
i want to be able to go across little hill and bump but not mountains at all the only thing i see a can change is
global slope# if i put this to 1 i cant go nowhetre if i put it to .5 i still stick here and there on bumpy groung 0 same as .5,-.1 same -.5 same - 1 same in sparkys text it says
" rem first handle gravity - seperated from horizontal movement
rem to achieve a more realistic effect
rem Method: simple - cast a sphere vertically down, if it hits the level then
rem position the object there (sticky collision) then move
rem on to horizontal movement
rem more complex - if we were to only use the simple method the player would be
rem allowed to climb almost vertical slopes. Alternative is to
rem get the normalY direction to work out how flat the gorund
rem below the player is, 0-slope# is flatter, slope#-1 is steeper.
rem if it's flat, use sticky collision, if it's steep slide the
rem player down the slope. Changing slope# determines how steep the
rem player can climb. NOTE: this also effects stairs."

please help

Your post is tough on the eyes. Let me try to repost it for you. I haven't used Sparky's so I can't help. But maybe this will.
===================================================================

Using Sparky's Collision
When running... I'll run maybe 10-15 feet, and as soon as I get to a little bumpy ground -almost flat- I stick there till I jump or move my mouse. When going up a mountain I go up a little and the same thing happens. After I free up I get stuck a few feet later. How can I prevent this from happening?

I want to be able to go across a little hill and bump, but not mountains at all. The only thing I think I can change is

global slope#

If I set this to 1, I can't go anywhere.
If I set it to .5, I still stick here and there on bumpy ground.
0 has the same result as .5, -.1, -.5, - 1.

In sparkys text it says...
Quote: "

rem position the object there (sticky collision) then move

rem get the normalY direction to work out how flat the gorund

rem if it's flat, use sticky collision, if it's steep slide the
rem player down the slope. Changing slope# determines how steep the
rem player can climb. NOTE: this also effects stairs.

I fixed this problem with the sticking. It was the size of my map.

If anyone else is having the same problem, size your map down in

dark basic until it goes over smooth.
