Hey i'm working on a script that will be released later like tonight or something that a lot of people will like but i need some help. I'm using the plrdistwithin command and need to know how big a unit is or if the engine will tell me how many units i am from the trigger zone.

Thanks in advance

I believe that 100 units is 1 segment in the map and that a trigger zone is 1 segment. Please correct if that is wrong.

Addendum:

BTW, if you are using a trigger zone, you will want to use this script:

PLRWITHINZONE=1, when player is in zone and
PLRWITHINZONE=0, when player leaves zone.

See the fpi script plrinzoneactivateused.fpi

Use plrdistwithin=xx with an entity such as a door or whatever entity you need player interaction. About as close as you can get before the condition is met is 35 units. 30 units is too close and will not activate the condition.

hockeykid, see my addendum in my last post

I believe someone will help if you post the script. I might be able to. plystire probably would, if he checks this thread.

Ok heres the script your. The problem is that you are suppose to take damage every one second the hud is displayed. But you don't take damage until you leave the zone.

I'm glad you are trying. However, there are some concepts that you need to understand more fully.

If you have FPI EditPad, click on help and then click on "overview of fpi scripting." Read this and wrap your head around it. It is actually a short overview.

Also, you might want to check out Nickydudes pdf as well as the stickies in this forum.

If you haven't fixed the problem yourself in the next couple of days, I will help you. In the meantime, others might help anyway.

Super, doesn't it feel good when you take the time to figure it out? I know it does me. Believe me I had to take the time myself. I still don't have it all figured yet, though.
