...does not seem to work for me. I don't know why, but it doesn't. I set that to yes in the enemy's options, I kill them...but they do not spawn again.

Is this a bug with a certain update? Or am I missing something entirely?

you also have to set their maximum spawn to more than 1 and one other setting to more than one for it to work...i'll get back to you on this.

EDIT-Found it! you have to set "Maximum Spawn" to 1,"Number to Spawn" to 1,and "Max at any time" to 1. otherwise i have no clue how to make an entity come back from the dead...

I always set Maximum Spawn to 99999 for unlimited spawns, number to spawn is 1, max at any time is 1. After that... it'll spawn when dead even if you don't want it to.

Thanks, I'll test that out. Happy holidays, everyone!

edit: Sorry to bother you guys again, but it isn't working. I honestly have no idea why. I'm running v1.08, if that helps. Any other suggestions?

I'm quite frustrated. How can I have an endless wave of zombies if I cannot spawn them more than once?

Take a screenshot of your entity's properties and post it up here so we can see what the properties you're using are. We may be able to help further with that.

...not sure why I didn't do that in the first place.

Picture attached.

I also tried it with maximum spawn set to 99999, but my game lagged horribly for some reason (even though there were only two on the screen).

I appreciate your help.

You have to set the Maximum Spawn to 99999. It's at one in the screenshot. Maximum spawn refers to how many times the entity can spawn. Everything else looks fine.

since we're talking about spawning, can I stop a character from spawning when I step in a trigger zone?

to be more clear, I want a character to respawn when dead forever until I step in a trigger zone then it stops spawning..

@Bibo:

Well, it wouldn't be the greatest method to use, but you could have the triggerzone set a variable that the spawned entities check. When the variable gets set, have them destroy themselves.

Hmm...I must have had something checked wrong beforehand. It works now.

I feel stupid. Thanks, guys.

Yes, isn't that what you wanted?

Here's how it goes:

No Spawn -> Start Spawning
Activate the Entity, have "Spawn At Start" set to No

Spawning -> No Spawning
Use method I mentioned above (Not the greatest, but hey, it should work, right? )

no I meant wouldn't they spawn then destroy themselves instantly? I mean will the player notice or will it occur quickly?

No, they respawn once they are killed. So if I kill a zombie, it would respawn from wherever it originally spawned.

Their "Start AI" is executed BEFORE they appear, so if you destroy them in that script (by checking the variable) then the player shouldn't notice a thing.
