DarkBASIC Discussion / File not found???

ok so i just got darkbasic for christmas and i decided to start it up and do the tutorials but when i got to the tutorial when i had to load a bitmap

i tried to load a bitmap like this


load bitmap "sample.bmp"


but when i start it it says somthing like runtime error on line 8 file not found


so i try a different bitmap like cement02.bmp

but i get the same error

i really really really want to use this but if i cant load resources i dont know what to do

The problem is where the files are...
If you don't supply a filepath (e.g. "C:\program files\dark basic...") DB assumes the filepath is your current folder, the folder your program is in. If your media isn't in the same file as your program it wont load without the filepath.
If your program isn't even saved you need the whole filepath. You can copy this from the media viewer.

you would do best to make a project and put all your tutorial resources in that file

i found the problem long ago thanks anyway


anyway to the last person who posted

i was following the tutorials from the book so i was confused because they dont have a resource download :/
