Hey, I am gettign into modeling and I came out with my first one, a ultra low poly street light! complete with a UV map. I hope you like.

Modeled in Milkshape 3D, im not sure how to tell how much polygons it is though.

ReadMe for all my models: Free for commercial/non-commerical use, use as you like, just dont sell or claim as your own.

The model needs work before the texture does.

Maybe make the pole a cylinder.

Add some polys to it, so it has more details.
For textures i recommend a more grungy look. And a higher resolution.

As for the "grungy" i would put some scratches on it.
And on the bottom. I would use some darker tint.
Maybe even a little bit rust. But just a little bit!

For a first go at modeling it looks good, but the texture could need a little bit more
I added a layer with metal, and then lit up the lamp an it came out as this (see attached), I did this in 2 min So just take your time, the texture is almost as important as the model itself.

There is polygon counter, which comes with Fps creator update.

From what I know the "CountPolygons" are made to count polygons when uploading models to the store

i dont think it has pollys though, im gunna try to work on the model and texture now, just got home

Edit: ok, so i got the UV map loaded in GIMP and I fill all the sections black to take out the lines, then i fill it all with a dark grey, now i cant add filters?? plz help, i wanna do this the right way instead of my first texture that i did on a seperate project and just copied and pasted

Its because for some reason the UV Map get indexed, same in photoshop. The easiest way is just to copy and past into a new project. That should solve it
