Hi everyone,
I've decided to start one of these threads, but for my music. I hope noone asks for screenshots (again...).

Anyway, I'd like to share some of my compositions with you before I add anything to the store. See where I can improve and what type of music I should be making. I'll upload files to my host and add the links below.

The X Axis
My first song in FL studio. I hope you like it. Its a mix between string trance, dance and with a guitar thrown in.
Download Sample

The Flickering Light

A Choir/Orchestral melody that starts spooky then ends with a happy flicker before returning to its gloomy self.
Download Sample

Les Jeunes

A looped happy/nursery song with a strong beat.
Download (Free Use)
You may use this song in your game or other production so long as credit is shown.

They sound a little bit MIDI!

If you are using FL studio, try assigning your channels to mixer tracks, that way you can adjust the volume levels so that all the elements blend together. Also you can add some effects to the mixer channels. The drums in the first track desperately need some compression to stop them sounding like a megadrive! You could also try a little reverb (the reverb2 VST is considerably better).

With that high melody, its very keyboardy sounding. Have a look at tweakbench, and maybe try getting hold of MDA Padawan, and MDA keys, they're both free VST plugins with some wicked sounds, that should be more suited to making game soundtracks.

I don't want to sound over critical, I hated it when I played my music to other people and they ranted on about VSTs and mixing and compression, and I was like "what?!" but seriously once you get into it you'll see how powerful they are.

Out of interest, what version of fruity are you using, I might be able to send you some compatible virtual instruments to get you going!

I want robotic legs.

The flickering light one sounds a bit like runescape lol.

They're okay but a bit judery and you should focus on the balance.

I'm using FL Studio XXL V8.02 and if you could send me some "compatible virtual instruments" that would be great. I've only just started with FL and I know I have a lot to learn. I've taken your comments on board and have tried to fix up my songs.

Thanks,
JRH
