Here again.

This time is a wall with a gate inside it. See the picture.

Cause I think that sharing knowledge is a good thing I wrote a small tutorial explaining how I created and textured the model.

I use AC3D, so this is much more interesting for people using the same modelling software, but general principles and techniques can be easily adapted to any modeler.

In the download you will find
Framed_Gate_Wall.ac - the AC3D model
Framed_Gate_Wall.x - the DirectX mesh
Framed_Gate_Wall_d2.dds - the texture
Framed Gate Wall .bmp - the bitmap image for the segment
Framed Gate Wall.fps - the fps segment file
Framed_Gate_Tutorial.pdf - the tutorial

The paths for mesh, texture and segement files are

..\Files\meshbank\Veltro Medieval Pack\Gates
..\Files\texturebank\Veltro Medieval Pack\Gates
..\Files\segments\Veltro Medieval Pack\Gates

where .. is the FPSC directory. Sure you can change them, but in this case you must change fps file too with new paths.

Hope you enjoy it.

Nice idea and wall. Because of the obvious joint when they are placed together, and because it is an unusual wall/barrier, I think it would play better as a single object and not a continuous wall.

It would make a nice barrier at the end of a walk or garden wall.

Best.

@xplosys

Yeah, you are right.

Infact I did it as single wall and not as room. I see it well placed between 2 brick walls or as a barrier
