I just updated last night, and after words, it will not compile... I went through the activation process, and still will not compile. It says it is active, but all a program will do it show the loading compile bar, then before it is done, disappear and will not go further. I even did the simple

Print "Hello World!"

And that fails to compile...

I am using the editor that came with Dark Game Studio, a slightly edited Synergy Editor. Any help would be appreciated...

When you did hello world, you did remember to put WAIT KEY at the end, otherwise, it has compiled and your program has just ended as it should of. Check your Projects folder to look for a compiled EXE.

* There is a similar post on the DBP board, look there for answers.

It will not work with ANY program, no matter what is there. I searched, could not find anything, I will look again. I am trying to load code samples in the projects folder. I will show pics in a rar file in a sec.

Edit

These 5 steps show what I did and what happens.

Update:

The compiler DOES compile and makes the .exe, but it will not run upon pressing F5, or the button at top, and the output does not receive the data... Is this update not supported by this IDE?? If so, how do I fix it?

Another update:

For some reason, if I compile in step through mode or debug, it works... I will start doing that unless there is a fix for it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

His problem looks to be:
"if $usage = 3 then"

Then is not needed, my problem is that the EXE that is made will not run when pressing F5, and I do not get any messages saying compilation complete with the any of the options. It will run after IF I use the debug or step through mode, but that leaves the task bar showing at the bottom, making it harder to see some stuff while play...

I was referring to what BatVink suggested:

Quote: "
Wow! So it sounds like compilation fails, but then Synergy looks for an exe and if it finds one it decides that it was successful?

aarrowh, try one of the other editors like Codesurge (use the search box on the forum to find it). If it works there, it is confirmation that Synergy is causing you the problem.

I just tried Code Surge, can't even make it load DBPro.. I just get a lot of access violation, etc etc. I am running XP, so it is not the Vista quirks. And the default DGS IDE worked until the update. I might just repair with the DGS disk again to make it back at U7, it works then..
