You've got my money,Bond. that goes without saying. but I'm wondering, If all goes well with the new job (and by all means, I hope you get it) will this be the last pack you'll be producing for FPSC?

Quote: "A prototype game. That's all I can say for now."

Yeah, he probably has agreed to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), so don't ask for any details. (hush hush)
Fill us in though as soon as you are able Bond, because we all want to play the game when its done. (the final of course, not the prototype)

Quote: "But if anyone wants to purchase the source files for this pack to do their own modifications, email me directly and we'll work out a deal. I had a few people from the XNA and Torque community purchase some Model Pack 18 characters from me this way, so I suspect there will be a few interested in this pack as well."

Do you alow us to use these for other stuff like the XNA under the FPSC distribution agreement, or would that be a separate purchase?
I'm lost on the source files thing (is that 3DS Max lingo?), because I thought we could mod the X file.

Quote: "
Oh yeah, I would encourage this kind of thing. It looks like a doable idea, although I pretty much don't user timers at all in my scripts since FPSC still doesn't have entity-specific timers yet, does it?"

Cool, thanks.
I can modify my multiple timer script to handle a couple of timers on tenths of a second, and use on of those for a modified earthquake effect.

Will any of these characters be in the store individually? I will probably not want the really gory body. I saw enough of that in 'Nam anyway. Actually, I can't believe that TGC will accept the gory dead body in the pack but one day they will probably cave-in I suppose. OK, I'm a prude when it comes to that.

BTW, I have to say with the rest, that your graphics, animations and character scripts rock.

The past has a lot of memories to hold onto; but, today is chock full of new adventures, and, the future shouts out, "The best is yet to come!" -- TerryC

I'm kinda with you on that actually. My grandfather, who is still living, was in WWII, and somehow the idea of re-enacting it in games, for fun, just somehow seems so wrong to me. Too soon in the history of the world for that sort of thing IMO.

I like gore in games if it makes sense, and helps to tell a story. But not just for the sake of it.

Use them however you want, in anything you want. The reason some people wanted to purchase the source files at a higher cost was they wanted to modify them to suit their own needs.

A nice collection of blood splats come with the pack, and some of the less gory stuff will probably go in the store too.

Sweet! Bond this is looking fantastic! So is it just characters?
Any small entity's are anything? Plus will you offer this on your site? I'd rather pay you fully for this instead of you getting a percentage but if its only through TGC thats fine to.

LOL
I just watched "Resident Evil: Degeneration" for the second time the other day.
Did you guys know that it was done in Maya ?!?
The Movie Beowulf was done with Maya as well!
I don't know about you guys, but that makes me want Maya.

and this gets followed up by...
Quote: "you should make a warewolf like the ones in underworld"

too classic
LOL

If I had a nickel for every time someone said that, then I'd have enough money to, to , well I dunno what I would buy, but it would cost alot.

Quote: "is this model ready for sale? if not,I guess i will be camping out for this model as well"

I think he said mid to late February at one time Tanya....but above he said...
Quote: "The pack is nearly ready to send off to TGC. I just have to package things up, and prepare all the textures for the shader. Remember, this pack is for 18 and older only, so start asking your parents NOW!"

So, maybe he is pushing it out early, so he can get busy with his other project.

I should have the pack done and sent off to TGC today. It's really coming together now, and I think it's pushing the visuals in FPSC to new heights!

I've incorporated self-illumination into the character shader, so the dogman's eyes glow in the dark, awesome! You'll need a shader model 3.0 card to use the effects in this pack. The characters have a very cinematic 3 point light setup, diffuse/normal/specular maps, simulated GI, and self-illumination! Just make sure to put some lights in your scene, and don't totally rely on ambient lighting alone.

I actually didn't like that movie. The Beginning rocked, but then it had to much story to it and not enough action...

And the "Lobotomy" character with his shader. It's a little hard to tell in the pic, but the raw exposed muscle around the mouth area glistens with specularity - made possible by a dedicated spec map. And notice how the normal map really gives the straight jacket believable folds.

Wait till you hear his disgusting vomiting sound effect, and he sprays you with blood!

Incredible man, you certainly have my money no doubt.

As for your ps3 project, hope everything goes great!

And yeah hopefully we don't permanently lose you from the FPSC scene, you definitely add a lot to what makes this program so fantastic and showing us what can truly be done.

However it works out, cheers!
And congrats to all your great work!

Can't wait for the pack

Congrats.

Four "base" characters in the pack, about 11 with variations. Includes famous tight bond1 scripting, sound effects, and new shaders. Then about 27 gore items. So at 20 bucks for the pack, even if you figure 5 bucks a character which is crazy cheap, then the texture variations, sound effects, shaders, and gore items are basically freebies!

You've seen a chainsaw brute, but what about an axe brute?

Looks great, For the spec maps is it actually a real Texture map or just something to do with the shaders to give it a fake gloss spec?

Will this pack be X10 ready? Seeing as how Lee is making all packs X10 ready, just wondering if he'll work his magic on this?

Oooh I don't know. I saw that Lee had updated X10 to use the old legacy character movement commands. I don't think he has included the new scripting commands from 1.09, including one particular bugfix. If the player movement commands work, then these should work in X10 - although this is still aimed at X9.

I will include a video with the pack, and post it for download, on how to use Dark Shader to make your own character shaders with the included template.

Could this thread be locked please? I will open an official new thread in a day or so.
