I've been messing with anim8or and decided I want to make some ww2 weps. This M1 carbine is the first one I started with. It was thrown together in about 2 hours, and still needs a lot of work. The texture is NOT the final thing, I just threw those on to show contrast. I also plan on making the regular stock version. After that I plan on making some more ww2 weps. I have no idea how to animate/get models fpsc ready, nor do I have the time with classes starting again on monday. But if anyone is interested in doin that, let me know. It makes no real difference to me whether or not they get animated/fpsc ready, I just figure that the forums would like a few more free weapons. Let me know what you think.

Nice work, Twitch, but remember that you need an ingame screen to post in FPSC models, otherwise post in the 3D chat boards.

I like it, but I think the handle could be made slightly thinner...

If you post it in 3ds format, I could probably rig it up with the animations for one of the stock weapons, which shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanx darimc. The models will be free of charge, as long as I can get someone to animate them. Hopefully Avid will be able to rig them up

Well the m1 carb is basically done. I'm not too good with texturing, and I dont have much time to mess with it. Heres a few screens.

Avid if you're still interested in animating let me know

EDIT: Finished the normal stock version

Oh, that texture looks nice! Did you make that yourself, or did you use a picture? I haven't seen you around any, so I'd like to say hi!

Some people say that I'm crazy... And I agree.

Very nice! Just thought I would comment on how the M1 Carbine was mainly used by special soldiers and captains during WWII. It was never used much for regular infantry combat, as it's more accurate counterpart, the M1 Garand, was used. It was used more in the Pacific Front than the Western Front.

Either way, very nice model!

Thanks crispex. I'm pretty in tune with my knowledge on the ww2 weapons. Reason I made the carbine first was because I own one, and I love that lil baby. Thing is such a blast to shoot.

Anyways, heres a little preview of what is next on my list which I'm working on this second...

Mind the textures I just threw them on for some color..

Yes, I am a big WWII buff myself, so I like to pop in and spew useless knowledge from time to time.

Anyway...

I like the look on how the BAR is coming along! Will any of these be animated?

Wow man, I am really impressed by these! How about some of the German weapons, like the STG-44, or even the MP-40, perhaps the G-43 (actually based off of captured M1 Carbines, so it should be easy to make). Why not make a FULL model pack with weapons from all fronts, like the Mosin Nagant, for Russians, the Bren for Brits, ect.

I love the look of these, definetly useful as WW2 media is very sparse these days.

I've a list of weapons you can take a look at:
-Mauser K98k w/o scope
-Springfield w/o scope
-Colt M1911 .45 ACP
-Thompson M1A1
-M1 Garand
-Fallschirmjäger Gewehr 1942
-StG44
-MP40
-Luger P08
-Walther P38
-M1919A4 .30 cal
-MG34
-MG42
-Webley revolver
-Bren
-No. 4/SMLE Lee Enfield**
-Sten

I know this seems like a lot, but you don't have to do them ALL. A few US weapons & German weapons are enough.

Pack's lookin' great, hope to see more!

I think you think that it didn't look like a BAR do to the lack of a bipod. The bipod weighed an additional 10 pounds or so, and the BAR itself was a relatively heavy weapon, so that is why most detached it and tossed it aside.

Anyway, dude, I never knew such models could come from somthing like Anim8or, teach me your ways! (Seriously!)

Yes, these models are coming along nicely! I wouldn't mind actually paying for a pack like this.

@ bozzy - I'd like to make them more detailed but I'm not very good with texturing and anim8or isnt very good with textures.

Also the weps will be free as promised, as long as someone cac animate/get them fpsc ready. Havent heard from Avid lately, so I'm up for any takers.

I'm still here, just make sure they're all ready.

Also, make sure the main body is mapped to a single texture, with a separate one for the clip. This is just so I can create the magazine to go on the ground. If you can give me your e-mail I can probably have some of them done within 2 weeks. I'm exceptionally busy atm.

I open a stock weapon in fragmotion, then rig the new weapon to the animations.
