How do i make a hole in the ground?

like the one Jesper just released in his grunge pack.

but in the ground, and looks circular

i have AC3D so could someone please help me with it
i hope i gave a good enough example

You can make a hole in the ground with the segment editor by TGC, you will need some mesh for the hole and another for a "frame" and give the hole mesh the CSG property to punch holes. The segment editor comes with tutorial videos that describe almost everything on how to make custom segments and is available for free on the site:

The method described by daarboven is the same used to make doors, windows, etc.

If you don't want to make an hole in an already exisitng floor/ground segment you can create a floor/ground segment with an hole in it directly using AC3D

I would ALWAYS prefer CSG over custom segments since it simply makes more sense to have a punched hole in whatever segment you use just at the moment but to make a custom geometry anytime you need a hole.

I agree. You get much more flexibility.

Creating 'ad hoc' segment is just another possibility

I don't think floors support CSG so you'll need to model a custom floor mesh with the hole already there.
