I'm currently using his RTS tutorial adapted slightly, but is there an updated command that equates to getSquaredDistance in the tut?

I'm using DBpro 6.8, I think

Why would you need another command? Because the distances in question are only being compared, you get the same effect by comparing the distances without having to call the awfully slow sqrt() command. I doubt an internal DB command would offer any more speed over the written function itself.
