Is there a way to reduce the poly for advanced terrain and is there a why to hide all faces not facing camera so they are not counted

hiding faces not seen is called occlusion culling, look into it...

If you mean hide all faces that are actually pointing away from the camera, that already happens by default, it's called backface culling. However if you mean hide the faces that are behind hills or other faces, that's called occlusion culling as lucifer 1101 pointed out.

Or if you mean anything thats outside the camera viewing frustrum(what the camera isn`t looking at), there is always Lost in thoughts Advanced Terrain frustrum culling, herehttp://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=67369&b=6
