Against all odds of mockery I still post this:
is there a way you would release your flamethrower as seen in this page - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=105450&b=24 - butters?

I don't find the word noob to be offensive, but I do use it with the intention of it being an insult, so I agree with the new rule.

@Butters
Good news, and thank you in advance.

Sorry for the off-topic continuation of noob. Urban Dictionary.com states:

Quote: "
II. Defining 'Noob'
Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed.

Noobs are often referred to as n00bs as a sign of disrespect toward them, . . .. "

Back on topic:

This is a character I will definitely get for sure. Be sure and post when it is done. Thanks guys.

The term "Newbie" was invented in the US Navy as a insulting term for new recruits. I know this from a long line of family that have been in the armed forces, Mostly the Navy.

I am 44 years old and am the only male member of my bloodline that has not been in the Navy.

Patience and tolerance are the keys to the passage of knowledge. Even the ones that know the most started with many questions.

I know the root bone does for characters, but I've never animated weapons before. Hmm...I guess I wasn't really much help here Sorry.

No, that's all I needed to know, thanks!

PS, CC, the model is just excellent. I really like the work you've done here, its an excellent style, really fits with the urban warriors done by Jon for the TGC store.

I'm just wondering if it would be cool to animate another version that is just a "standard" marine. With a pulse rifle etc.

Thanks butters glad you liked it!
And yeah of course, should i edit the model? Or
will you delete the weapon.

By the way i have some new weapon models...much better than that flamethrower.
They are still not textured or UVed but if you would like to wait i can make a version will all of those weapons.
However, they are modernday no pulserifles or high tech weapons.
Just a shotgun, rifle, desert eagle, ak 47 etc.
Maybe i can edit one into a scifi weapon. Or just make one from scratch.

Butters

Can you please rename your JPG to jpg, because the caps on the extentions causes the forum to run a PHP.
Then my computer blocks the image whether I save it or open it. (it tries to save the PHP not the JPG image)
Images that are posted with lower case extension names always work fine.
I only ask because I really want to see your image.

CC, Ican do the mesh deletion and add a sci-fi rifle, no worries. I'd quite like to get some of my modelling work in there anyway. If you could do another export of the character mesh with some of the parts separately, that would be really helpful. Right now it's really difficult to rig because some of the mesh is quite complicated. If I had your original model with separate mesh groups it would be easier.

I don't have a great deal of time right now, as I'm working full time and doing 3 different game projects in my own time, so saving me some dev time on the riggin would be lovely. I'll send you / attach an image in a minute.

Conjured.
I wouldn't worry about it, it's a crappy image anyway.

Butters, i dont know which software you use?
So which format is best i have to export it to?
And which parts you mean seperately? Because as for the body head etc.
Those are all just one element. The shoulderpads however.
And the accessoires those are all seperate elements.

Could you maybe export the separate elements as separate obj files? When I open your current one in Maya it just says that it's got errors in the grouping and converts it to 1 mesh.

It's just the backpack and loin-cloth thing that are messing me up really!

Hey butter fingers.
Yeah you are right, i always model like that.
I hate to have seperate meshes in one file. (basically for laying a UV layout and texturing)
Unless its for a render or something.

Anyway i have send the OBJ's in seperate files, packed in 1 RAR.
Let me know if this works or if it still needs some changes.

I guess we have to keep waiting, but keep bumping it.
That way, you can keep a fire under Butter's butt to keep him working on it.
