you can use sketchup free and get your models into fpsc. just look up 'sketchup to blender' in the search bar. sketchup is the EASIEST that i know of.
thats what i use to model.

I did just that and when I went to download it asked which game platform I intend to use it for.
The options were:
XNA -> PC
XNA -> XBox
Valve Source
-----------------------------
I'm not sure which one to go to. I'm just
going to download it using: XNA -> PC

If this doesn't work, I was just wondering which one I should go to.

Offset a little to the left. Or was it the right?

Or you could use GMax, which is basically 3dsmax for free.

Not to offend you guys XSI mod tool is free autodesk makes 3dmax as well XSI which is much easier than 3dmax and more functional than zmodeler.

Polygon and vertex manipulation is even easier than milkshape.
It is so easy you could even build full levels and export it easier than with 3dmax.

Animation is a little harder than most software.

even a cutscene can be render animated without much effort
