Yes, setting smoke to 0 would remove smoke, or you can just delete that line from the gunspec.

To make a weapon semi-automatic, set the "iterate" option to 0.

O hi plystire, wasn't expecting you for advice

But actually, I'm trying to get the Katana to not repeatedly slash when you hold down the fire button. The iterate is already at 0 and is fully automatic so what should I do?

And thanks for help with the smoke.

If it isn't already also set the "fireloop" option to 0 as well.

Nah, it wasn't firerate, it was something with the animations, I switched autofire or something to fire and it works now.
