Hi All,

Hopefully a nice simple one, I have created a small hud display when in a trigger zone, all is well except the hud is not square. So there is a white box making up the rest of the shape behind my hud. I have searched through the forums and I can't get an exact answer on how to remove the "white square" and just show my hud. I have created my hud using photoshop and have tried setting the background to transparent, but no joy.

I am using the simple display hud script from the community guide and have tried adding bits of scripts from the dooruse.fpi (as it seems to remove the black from the .tga to display just the text) but i can't quite figure it out?

";Artificial Intelligence Script

;Header

desc = test

;Triggers

:state=0:hudreset,hudx=50,hudy=78,hudimagefine=languagebank\english\gamecore\text\test.tga,hudname=test,hudhide=1,hudmake=display,state=1
:state=1,plrwithinzone=1:hudshow=test,state=2
:state=2,plrwithinzone=0:hudunshow=test,state=1
;End of Script"

Thanks!

Why not make the "hud" square?

Using GIMP (freeware) I would create a new document (which brings up a dialog box where you can set the size of the canvas and if you click Advanced Options you can set the background to transparent) Copy and paste any images, type any text, and save as a .tga. It doesn't matter that your canvas was square, the only parts to actually show up are those you added. The square canvas is transparent.

Did you have any luck fixing the problem? What did you end up doing? Share solutions as well as problems.

no solution unfortunately, GIMP was straight forward enough but using transparent background still showed a white square in FPSC, I just changed my display hud to be a rectangle.

Thanks for your help anyway!
