I decided to create an input-type program mainly using the entry$ command:

When you run the program, the text look kind of strange. How can I improve the clarity of this text? Should I try diffrent fonts?

[edit] "Ariel" works better

You're trying to use a very odd screen resolution.

Try a more normal size, 640 x 480; 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. (Assuming you don't have a widescreen monitor)

Altho I have to say, it looks just fine on my PC when I ran your code. (Thats probly because it defaulted to a standard screen size as my gfx card doesn't support the resolution you were trying to use)

the system font is less than ideal but either i'm so used to it or it's actually not too terrible...

i do have W/S 22" and no matter the resolution, screen depth, text size (within reason), it's all about the same to me.

so, if you want something better, DO try some different fonts. if you want something REALLY clean and with a variety in color/style/etc, consider using a bitmap font system (search 'bitmap font' or find scraggle's posts/examples).

conversely, it may look worse to you than the rest of us (i'm suspicious because of the 700x600x16 display settings in your example) so if you have a hunch it's on your end, take a screen shot of how it looks to you and post/attach it (preferably lossless .png format or a smallish .bmp, without re-sizing anything, so we can clearly see what you're seeing).

I am having trouble getting Photobucket to download my file, but I'll keep trying. I have never done this before.

you can attach it to your post using the forum attachment feature (lower part of the box where you type in the message) if you can't get photobucket sorted.

If you use a regular print statement with your program it looks clear. Why does it not look this way if you make it larger and just change the display mode?

Here is my screenshot! It got distorted along the way so it actually looks a lot worse than it is. Anyone know the problem?

Also, how would you create a backspace for this?

[edit] never mind, I have a book that helped me:
