Hi, I have a few questions about X10.

1. Can you import or open X9 created maps (levels) into X10 or do you have to re-make the entire levels again?

2. Can you make single .dds textures for walls in X10 or do you have to have all the others ones too (.N, .S., etc.)

3. What's the success rate on using models bought in the FPSC store and using them in X10? Can you re-texture or do you need the other textures as well (.N, .S, etc.)

Basically, how difficult (if possible at all) is it to take a game you made in X9 and bring it into X10 for the purpose of better graphics, lighting and better A.I.?

Thanks

Hi

1. You can import X9 maps directly into X10 providing you create the same asset structure in X10.

2. You can make single .dds textures for walls without the extra textures.

3. With the latest v109 beta 7 the success rate is very high.

Not that difficult.

That's great to know, thank you. One question though, can you elaborate a bit more on "providing you create the same asset structure in X10".

Not completely sure what you mean by that.

Thanks

Hi Techgirl

I think he means that u need have the same entities and the same segments and stuff installed in your x10 folders in order for x10 to build the map correctly.

Correct me iff i am wrong.

Weren't there some issues with media being incompatible? Or was that just the model packs?

Well since version 1.09 beta 7 every model/model pack I have add to x10 works from the fps creator website to the game creator store, or just from some random fps creator free site( some time there a little work to get them working but nothing hard. exp: weapons you need to add a Gun_D.dds image and keep the other image file also. And all you have to do is open the Gun_D.jpeg in your image editor and save it as a Gun_D.dds. If they have a hand texure also then do the same for it just save it as Hand_D.dds)

but it looking really good since the newest update..

p.s. the beta installers are just a way to add them to x10 they give you a option to install them to fps creator, fps creator x10, or darkbasic pro..
