I create a cube, I create a larger sphere that's slightly offset, and then I subtract the sphere from the cube.

The result should be half a cube with a curving right hand edge, but what actually happens is nothing.

Is it because I end up with a concave shape? If so, is there a way around it without modelling?

If it helps, what I'm after is something that looks like the left side of this halfpipe, but without the lip.

As you found out sphere does not work correctly, there is away to this.

1. make a cylinder and rotate to the position you need
2. fix the object then save the object out as x
3. delete the cylinder.
4 load the cylinder object back in.
5. make cube or box
6. then perform csg

I had trouble seeing the cylinder from DBP, as it actually creates a tube without ends. Once I'd rotated it, it more or less disappeared.

Cylinders I can model though, so I got there in the end. Thanks.
