Hey I was wondering how it would be possible to make an object seem illuminated. I tried using the illuminent shader from x9 which looks amazing in X9, but doesn't work in X10.

Also, objects are rendering blocky, exposing the rough surfaces of the objects in game. It's almost like smoothing doesn't work. Any idea?

Thanks!

I've noticed that the shadows render blocky on objects too. I think the shadows in x9 look better. I think you can just use a specular map to make something appear as though it is glowing or illuminated.

Um it does work...
Check out my scifi addon gantries it uses illuminent instead of the default X10 gantries using bump map as well as the wall using bumpmap.!!

Your wrong..specular is to make stuff shiny or appear reflective it does a little of both

Really, I thought if you edited the alpha channel you can make things appears as if they are lit up. I used it for a wall that had small lights on it and it worked.

The alpha channel tells you how shiny the object is supposed to be. I guess if you take it out it defaults to 255, it probably just looked like it was glowing because it was so shine.

Actually, yeah the spec map does. Once you add the layer mask to the alpha channel (I'm not sure if its the same talk in non-GIMP editors) you can make certain parts glow by coloring them in shades of grey or white. white is really lit up, grey is not as much.
