Hi everyone, I just wanted to share a project I have been working on since early January. It’s still a work in progress so your comments and criticisms are welcome as long as they aren’t rude.

Story:
Around 2012 the World’s oil supply dwindles, the US’ own supply is also cut short to the last thousand barrels. In a desperate attempt to accumulate their oil supplies the US learns of vast quantities in the East (Russia, Asia and the Middle East). They immediately begin a Military operation on the east.
Three years later the US are still fighting conflicts they can’t win, as well as this, their military funds begin to dwindle, they start taking money from public funds. This thrusts the US into a dystopian like era.
Councils are left short of money and most cities suffer due to lack of funding. Crime rates also rise, police and public servants are corrupted by mobs and paramilitaries who want to run the cities to expand their illegal businesses. The whole nation is in chaos.
You are Jason Tempest, a small time crook who’s made enemies all over Trate city. When a dangerous loan shark who you owe a huge debt to makes a threat against your life you decide you not only want to leave the city but the entire country. However, with the country being locked down by the military you face an immense challenge. You will have to battle police and criminals alike to achieve your ultimate goal, freedom. But is a loan shark all Tempest is running away from?

Game play:
As you can gather from the title and story this is a crime/adventure game. The game isn’t completely centred on gunfights and action. There is a large puzzle element and decision making involved. The player is also required to buy items, e.g. weapons, tools and health. It’s quite hard to explain, I hope to have a demo ready soon.

I will explain more in the future. In the mean time, enjoy the pictures.

Like it so far, like Juzi said, a bit too dark, at least on my monitor. I also like the title page. Keep up the good work.

I also think it looks cool! The graffitti in the first screenie makes it more interesting, in my opinion at least.

I'm making a game that will be scary... I hope.

Thanks SekoIdiootti i wanted to give the level a decaying and dangerous feel, glad you find it interesting.

Thanks Mazz426, Max Payne was actually one of my level design references.

Thanks for the comments people, if anyone has any questions or points of improvement then feel free to ask.

Two new screenshots for you all, these are shots from level 2, the back alleys, the player must dodge police in this level. It's still a WIP so your comments are welcome.

It looks a little too dark, but that's been said already. Good screenshots though. Very nice title pic.

I just wanted to ask a question to the more experienced members of this forum or anyone who can answer really. The game contains a lot of mature themes like strong language and references to drugs as well as drug use. Am I allowed to post say screenshots of the drugs in the game and the effects of the drugs? Basically am I forbidden to post anything that only a mature audience is allowed to view?
Thanks, expect more screenshots soon.

Small update, I have started modelling a Patrol cop for the second level.
Also is there a way to make the visor transparent in game?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for all the positive feedback people.

Small update to keep things fresh, one more shot of level two, in this area there will be a police officer patrolling. The player must avoid the police in this level as well as meeting various other NPCs like homeless people and drug dealers to earn some extra cash.

Anyway enjoy…

Small update.

Just wanted to tell you a bit about the store system in my game. Basically there are three main types of stores Hardware, Newsagents and Chemist. Each store sells different items, some items will be essential to complete levels. For instances the Hardware store will sell; Fuel, Batteries, tools and a flashlight. I'll tell you about the other businesses in the game in the future.

The screenshot is still a heavy WIP, and the sky is due to change.

This picture shows one of the games weapons.

The weapon is fully animated thanks to my brother. I made the gun model and the texture but the hand is from model pack 5. It looks good in game especially with the airmod features. There will be a video but for now let me know what you think.
