Hey guys.

For story of the game and download of the beta, go to my site:
http://bde.ucoz.com/index/0-6
It's not 100% finished! (site)

It's a 2D RPG game set in modern world, with some fantasy . Because it is in beta, it has some useless things in it, like magic. This things will be removed in next stages in development.

Well, also, I would need help with developing it. Since it is a 2D game, I would need a helper with 2D resources. If someone is good with drawing and can draw good 2D thing, please IM, or say that in a post!

Also, if you like it, register on my site for updates and new versions!

Every comment is welcome!

Hi! Sounds like an interesting project, but could you post some screenshots of the game? That way people can see what it looks like (and you'll probably get more comments).

EDIT: Oh, there's a screenshot at your site Looks cool! I've posted it here so that people will be more inclined to look...

@ Warlord42
He doesn't look very much like John to me...

I think you should be aiming for one of these personally:
John
Recre John
xD

You're lucky I never made the WIP for my project I named John's Adventure:

(which has an unusually similar name)

EDIT:
Feedback after playing your game:
1. For some reason the shadows are not the same shade throughout.
2. The guy in the smaller of the 2 buildings couldn't walk from somewhere to somewhere else (presumabley the gate he was going to open?)
3. The game crashed/froze when I tried to quit, nearly forcing me to restart my computer.
4. What is this made in? - The launcher doesn't look DBP or DBC indicative?
5. There are quite a few typos in the NPC dialogue.
6. This is not made in a TGC product so shouldn't be on TGC WIP board.

How did you come about having magic and now it will be removed? Did you switch themes mid-development?

Yes, wanted to make a medieval RPG game, but unfortunatelly, it is better this way!

"Feedback after playing your game"

Thanks man for those things! I will try and fix them. Again thanks!

Oh, and for the typos, I am sorry, English is not my first language. Will try to fix them.

Off-topic: thanks for comments ! on other sites I didn't get a single comment!

hey looks good!
The style reminds me of an old point and click game i used to like, can't remember what it was called tho...

heh, I got confused in the same way as Cowbox at first but John is quite a common name. The people at Soharix will not sue (unless Cowbox says otherwise.. XD)

@Cowbox:

hmm... REAL John series? It's just a DIFFERENT John game. It's not like John and Recre John were TGC official or anything...
But I agree, people might get them confused.

The picture that sixty squares posted looks quite good, but I think it could use some more detail, or a less "clean" graphical style... although this is a good start

C0wbox, you talk about your game dev group more than Mr. Rock does about MISoft, lol

Lol, I know I speak of Soharix quite a lot, but that's just because I'm proud of its progress, having gone from pretty much absolutely nothing to something with members that actually produces games now.

@cowbox - i understand being proud of something you built/made but, lately, it's borderline hijacking. ie, did you really need to include 5 screenshots and 4 links here? i'm sure you don't mean to do it but the end result is the same/similar.

LOL I knew it! When he said he had to take out magic stuff I thought something was up. As if he grabbed some gamemaker demo and started "modding" it. But didn't want to say anything or look into it more. Thanks for clearing it up so I don't have to waste any more of my time.

Hah, I understand man, twasn't meant as a hijack really, I was trying to show Warlord42 that John was already in a TGC game but I guess I went a bit overboard. xD (It did seem kinda a bit of overkill when I posted it.)

But anyway, its not even a TGC product so I'm not worried about this WIP.

You called it . I noticed something too but it didn't occur to me that he might have used game maker (if he did...)!

You can post about your game in the programming talk board on this forum if it's not made with a tgc product.
